We all hear about Glastonbury, Leeds Festival, Car Fest etc… but what about the Northumberland Festivals?
Over the next two months Northumberland are hosting some amazing festivals to suit all tastes – Music fans, Foodies/Beer lovers, Dog lovers and Vintage Vehicle enthusiasts! There is a festival for everyone in the family and not only that you get to enjoy the castles and landscapes as part of the festivals.
For our Music fans there are;
Coquet Fest kicking off on 17th August at Druridge Bay, 4 days of music, food, beer and beaches
Bamburgh B Festival – 25th August – Listen to classical, opera, jazz, pop and traditional folk music with the amazing back drop of Bamburgh Castle
Lindisfarne Festival 31st Aug to 3rd Sept 3 days of music, including The Fratellis, Food, Local Ales, Comedy and much more – something for all the family to enjoy. Based at Beal Farm this festival has the causeway Holy Island in the background, perfect to chill out and watch the sunsets.
Foodie Festivals are the Berwick Food festival – 1st to 3rd Sept and the Alnwick Food festival 16th to 17th Sept – gorge yourself on the best food in Northumberland, enjoy a real Ale whilst enjoying street entertainers and live music
Moving away from the traditional music and food festivals there are;
The North East Dog Festival at Kirkley Hall, so treat your pooch to a day out and take part in the ‘Have a Go’ section – Temptation Alley, Scentwork and fastest recall to name a few – not sure how our dogs would do with the temptation bit!
Northumberland Wings and Wheels Festival at Eshott Airfield, celebrating 75 years. Watch aircraft such as the Spitfire, Hurricane, DC3 Dakota, Jet Provost and Harvard performing for the crowds. On the ground there are vintage cars, tanks, tractors, music, food and fun for all the family
